Why do those huge natural disasters always happen to the ones that were already in need before? Too many people have died and the numbers are still raising. The best thing how we can help is sending money to the organizations that can do the support locally. There are surely many ways how to this. I guess it is the best to choose the national red cross of your country.

It was a busy day at the 21c3. Yet, there were many things I could take with me. I have learned about things I didn’t bother to care before (e.g. anonymous communications) and I have seen things I didn’t know that they existed (e.g. avg). In the near time I will look closely at some of those ideas. Right now, I am going to fall into my bed and take a goodnight’s sleep.
For those of you, who are not yet tired, take a look at the small gallery that came out of this small trip to berlin.
PS: Thanks to Bubi, who drove us home safely.

Finally I made it to the 21st chaos communication congress in Berlin. I still feel a littly dizzy, yet I think I am fine to attend this conference. All kind of topics are being touched here, ranging from totally geeky stuff to rather political questions like “trusted computing”. While I am visiting lectures/workshops I do have (temporarily) internet access, where I am logging interesting projects, backgrounds, topics. You can see what I am hearing, if you look here.
Right now we are sitting in a bsd lecture, Bubi is concentratingly listening to how really cool demons for routing or something are described, and I am taking a break. More later.

I actually planned to join Bubi and Bruno on the trip to and on the 21C3 which is taking place ‘between the years’ from 27th till 29th - which means right now. Yet I was struck by a series of viral attacks. So, I stayed in bed and only got up to beat my family in seddlers and once in rummy. During other forced idling times I completed reading the book I got from Ente’s parents: The Invincible by Stanislaw Lem. It is, again, a feat. And I enjoyed reading it quite much - therefore I have put it on the list of books I recommend. Now that I’m in the Lem mood, I’m gonna read Solaris, as well, e.g. in the train to Berlin for day 2 at the congress.

As I have noticed the last years again and again, time is flying too fast, which means I rarely get into the christmas’ish mood on time. Later then in February or so, I will think of Christmas.. but now? Not really. Here in Magdeburg we have 8° C and the sun is shining. Oh, well. The sugar snow on the gingerbread house which Ente and I have made has to jump into place. The rest of my family is sick and we are postponing Christmas Eve for a day. Which means more time for doing handicrafts.
The christmas card on the right, which I have created with the very needed assistance through Little Joe’s workmanship, has been sent all over, yet I feel I have forgotten some which might have been eligible to receive one. Here you go - this one is for you. Merry Christmas!

As my girlfried came back for christmas holidays from Canada, I have joined with her and her parents in a town close to Lübeck. One afternoon I did a walk through the side streets of Lübeck where I have seen all kind of gorgeous and interesting things. The afternoon sun have given some of the resulting pictures a nice finishing. Out of this little walk two galleries have been born:

We finally made it. With a delay of almost two weeks the second release of the magazine “Der Amateur” has been finished. Thanks to everybody who has put up with amateurs - especially Matthias who checked the orthography in the last minutes before take-off. You can grab your copy in cafes, bars, clubs, libraries in Magdeburg - yet, you can also enjoy the colored version on www.deramateur.de.

After I spent many thoughts on how wikis, blogs, links and galleries relate to each other, I have quashed the idea of unifying them into one big thing (for the time being). Instead I will leave the galleries as they are (though I’m constantly improving them), the links will remain over at del.icio.us and the wiki remains the number one way of collecting (potential) knowledge - except for …
… those diary-like, time-based logs that are created out of nowhere everywhere. It seems that the prime reason for the success of blogs as a new way of doing media is that almost everybody had an urge neglected by conventional media: sending one’s own stuff out. Anyways. I think I want to satisfy my urge in this respect, as well. Which means I will comment on things that move me. Nothing special. Just me. And your comments.
Of course I will continue posting updates that occur on anarchitect.org (new galleries, pages, whatsoever) within this log (here is the old log though). So you won’t miss out on those interesting things happening in the wonderful world of anarchitecturism. By the way you can employ the rss-feed to any rss 2.0 compatible application (e.g. firefox 1.0), so you don’t have to check yourself for updates.
PS: this blog iswas a simple php blog since I have been impressed by the simplistic charme of Petra’s blog - which seems to be offline right now… hmm.. not anymore.
