While working on a mixtape for some friends, i was reminded of the Keine Angst compilation Marina and i created almost nine years ago. We put together this sampler for Micah who was about to disappear in Wyoming. Listening to it again, it still is an awesome selection of songs. It is music against the fear. Rocking rarities for uproar.

The Uruguayan band Cuarteto de Nos published this über awesome music video for their song “Ya no sé que hacer conmigo”. The video was produced by Milagrito Films mixing beautiful typography with moving halftone characters (read: the band) and infographics:

Jentsch came up with a cool way how to filter and display music titles according to recommendations, mood, intensity and number of beats, personal popularity and play order. Bestimmte Parteien bashen ist eigentlich gar nicht so mein Ding.. Dann lieber das grosze Ganze – aber in diesem Fall ist es eben besonders charmant.

Over the last week or so i have been listening to beautiful melancholic pop coming from Sweden. Taken By Trees is especially noteworthy with its tender voice about to weep coupled with minimalistic acoustics. Jetzt, da ich einige Prüfungen hinter mich gebracht habe, höre ich laut Regina Spektor begleitet von Klavier und Streichern und freue mich über ihre groszartigen Musikvideos mit Scherenschnitten in Samson, schwarz-weiszen Streifen- und Karomustern in Fidelity, Stop Motion in der Schule in On The Radio und Stop Motion auf Collagen in Us… Grosze Klasse.

Update: ich hab total vergessen, dass die Ente ja bereits vor fast einem halben Jahr über Regina Spektors Musikvideo für den Song Samson gebloggt hat. Der Vollständigkeit halber sei das hiermit erwähnt.

Von Schmetterlingen im Wind zu Víctor Jara’s Vamos por ancho camino in dem von la hora del viento – der Stunde des Windes – die Rede ist. Mit Te recuerdo Amanda weiter zum traurigschönen Klassiker Jaras, in dem Amanda in den fünf Minuten mit Manuel aufblüht, bevor sie ihn eines Tages nicht mehr aus der Fabrik kommen sehen wird…

Dem Uwe sind Schmetterlinge aufgefallen, die aus Zeitungspapier geschnitten an verschiedenen Stellen in Magdeburg angebracht sind. Sie erinnern mich an die äuszerst charmanten Schablonengraffitis, auf die ich in den ersten Tagen in Santiago gestoszen bin, und an den gänsehauterregenden Song El arado vom hier zuvor erwähnten Víctor Jara, den es in verschiedenen Coverversionen auf YouTube zu hören gibt.

Two days ago this strangely different version of Clocks was played in Projekt 7 at the FGSE party and i find the corresponding video quite appealing. It addresses some environmental issues and in my eyes shows that talking about climate change is not meant to spread fear but hope. The idea is to spread the will to make a difference where there has been mostly denial and ignorance. But i guess this is just my wishful interpration of the video. The song is part of the remix sampler Rhythms del Mundo.
